In 1978 a group of people in the Twentynine Palms area decided there was a need for a Pro-Life influence in the Morongo Basin. The services available at that time for women to obtain a pregnancy test were facilities that often encouraged abortion; an alternative was needed. After meeting with the Right to Life League of Southern California, they became a chapter with all the benefits of the strong values, greater information, education, resources, and guidance to make our efforts a success. They began as a hotline service in April 1979, the “High Desert Right to Life Pregnancy Center” was born.

In 1982 a decision was made to open a center in Joshua Tree. Due to increasing needs, the Center relocated to Yucca Valley in January 2001. In January 2006, we became the “High Desert Pregnancy Clinic”.  We continued to expand our services to the women of the Basin in May 2009 moved into an office facility more suited to the growing needs of our clinic.

We currently offer pregnancy testing, crisis and post-abortive counseling, maternity and baby clothes, formula, diapers and furniture when available.  We have a library of literature, videos and DVDs. In addition to the information we keep on hand, we offer a speakers bureau that reaches out into the community of the Morongo Basin.
