At the High Desert Pregnancy Clinic we give of ourselves freely to women who are in need! Many are in need of basic provisions. Many are struggling with the decision of pregnancy. There are those who seek help coping with the decisions they have already made. All of them are seeking someone who will accept them just as they are.
At this time of the year we give Thanks to God for his blessings! God has been very present and very active at the clinic!
We have much to be thankful for-babies have been saved from the threat of abortion! 2 babies have been placed for adoption. Women come to a safe place, to learn how to be better mommies! With tear filled eyes she returns each week simply because someone cares. We have seen young boys become men, by stepping up to the responsibility of being a father and/or husband. We have helped the young moms put the fear of childbearing behind them and embrace their child. We have helped moms learn the importance of teaching boundaries to her toddler. We have helped couples learn how to lessen the frequency and intensity of the crazy cycles between men and women. We have helped men and women find forgiveness after abortion. We have helped teens learn the importance of purity, integrity and respect for themselves and others. We have given well over 150 Bibles, been a friend, a teacher and a parent, whatever they may need to help them find peace and understanding. We have met basic needs to feed and clothe their babies.
Each of our Volunteers and Board members has been hand pick by God! Each one brings something unique to our clinic. We truly are one body with many members!
1 Corinthians 12
12 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of the body, being many, are one body; so also is Christ.
28 And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondly prophets, thirdly teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diverse kinds of tongues.
We cannot do this without God! God wants to use you and there are two ways to help!
First, you can volunteer, in the clinic one-on-one with our clients as a trained client advocate, office person, help in the baby store or be on our Board of Directors.
Secondly, you can give generously. For each of the past 3 years we have nearly doubled the number people we serve, and 2011 is projected to be over 2000. As our clientele multiplies, so must our budget.
We are inviting you to join our team, all we ask is… if God prompts you to give, be obedient. Whether you can give $1000, $100 or $10 a month, God will use it to bring about His work in the lives of our clients and their babies.
God looks at the condition of your heart, not where the decimal is!
Mark 12 The Message (MSG)
41-44Sitting across from the offering box, he was observing how the crowd tossed money in for the collection. Many of the rich were making large contributions. One poor widow came up and put in two small coins-a measly two cents. Jesus called his disciples over and said, "The truth is that this poor widow gave more to the collection than all the others put together. All the others gave what they'll never miss; she gave extravagantly what she couldn't afford-she gave her all."
Mostly, we ask you to pray for the men, women and children who come to the clinic searching for a better life. We ask you to pray for those of us who are personally involved, that we will be the Face of Christ to each of them. We ask you to pray about how YOU will be involved in changing the world… one life at a time!
